Let us introduce ourselves

A few words about us

The Birmingham Hospitalité of Our Lady of Lourdes was affiliated to the Archconfraternity of the Hospitalité Notre Dame de Lourdes in 1937 and is a membership organisation within the Archdiocese of Birmingham. Its objectives are to be a link between Lourdes and the Archdiocese of Birmingham; to serve Christ in caring for all pilgrims whether in Lourdes or our local community; to encourage devotion to Our Lady of Lourdes; to promote a corporate spirit amongst the members; and to support one another by attending Mass and receiving Holy Communion, by works of charity, by praying for the reconciliation of humanity, the unity of the church and the peace of the world.

The Council is presided over by His Grace the Archbishop of Birmingham and is formed of a number of Ex-Officio and elected members. The Committee promotes the work of the members and supports the Archdiocese in providing hospitality and specialist assistance on the annual pilgrimage to Lourdes and other diocesan events throughout the year.

The membership comprises of Clergy, Doctors, Nurses, Brancardier, Handmaids, Youth workers, teachers and helpers, all who have given freely of their time to help those less fortunate in the Archdiocese.
